The sun hiding out in between the leaves of this beautiful tree and a lake behind.
Of the water that falls from a height
They wished the same
Not to fall but rise above in love flight
Of the rocks that stand still
They wished the same
Not to stand but run away for the time to stand still
Road tripping has fun of another kind. It helps us to interact with the nature in the most astonishing way.
This was captured while driving on a National Highway India. Suddenly out of nowhere the water drops covered the front window of the car. The road appeared wet and shiny just as a pretty girl brightens up after a shower. And some Sufi or a romantic number would be an added advantage.
This is why I have been always fond of road-trips. Moments like these make the trip memorable and at the same time beautiful.
Looking at cruises always made me wondered how extravagant it would be to spend a vacation on a cruise going from one farther end to another ,travelling for months in peace and serenity, away from the metro lives, travelling just with the oceans ,amidst the blue waters, listening to the sound of sea breeze every minute. This picture was taken up by me in the cable car at Santosa Islands,Singapore . The top view of this Asian cruise is splendid and makes me greedy enough to jump on it.
In the open fields of the yellow green grass
there she was waiting for the love that would last
to embrace her with open wide arms
only if she knew that was
the first step should be taken is by hers
but may be she did acknowledge it before the time would last
but wouldn’t want to be the one
to take the first plunge to overcast
as for all the times before
she was the one who was left out in the guards
when she embraced love with open wide arms.
This would relate to all the foodie people out there. I am sure most of you belong to the category of “eating when bored”. If standing in front of the refrigerator is your favourite pass-time then yes you are surely one of them. But this is all acceptable until you embarrass yourself over it in the public places. Here are few places where the chances of discomposing yourself are more .Or perhaps you have already been the victim to that before.
1. At the airport
I am sure whenever you walk into the airport and the minute you spot the cafe or the lounge area , you get the sudden hunger and craving for food. And no matter how costly that cup of coffee and a little cupcake is, you end up buying it. I remember once I was so busy eating that I had to rush to the boarding gate on hearing the last call announcement for my flight.
2. In the meeting room
Now here you are like a good professional attending the meeting , answering all the questions just to leave a good impression on your boss. But all that comes down to nothing as soon as the beverages with some mouth watering cookies arrive. Yes rightly said , all your concentration is targeted on how to hog on over those delicious little things at once.
3. Family get together:
Going to the family get together parties where you have to behave your best , is surely a headache. And amidst the elder people who are boring you to death, your mind is only occupied on what next snack is being served. The moment it comes, you end up taking a lot of it at once on the napkin and try to eat it quickly so that you can be spared from being spotted.
4. While shopping in the malls
No matter how much shopping addict you are, after an hour you will start feeling hungry. Then you would have to start convincing your friends to go to the food court and thus curb the hunger at once.
5. While on a date
I am pretty sure you would be laughing right now , if you have faced this. Cheers to all those who think more about the food on the menu rather than the cute girl/boy sitting in front of you. That is kind of very mean, don’t you think so? But surely you cant help it.
I was there, standing and brooding at the pedestal of this huge tower famously known as the ” Petronas Twin Towers” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia . But what was I brooding about? It has been quite a while since I have visited this comely place, or rather say been a couple of years. But this moment is still starstruck in my eyes. It appeared as the diamond studded necklace to me, only if it could be worn around.
I was a little demurred back that time, but being amidst the towers , I noticed certain kind of serenity in there. It almost had carried thousands of people and their lives inside it but it seemed so calm, so placid that the surroundings and I were perfectly conflated. I unknowingly stared at it like a wandered child and just couldn’t get over it.
It gave me a sense of confidence , that no matter how many people walk past you, hurt you or the kind of obstacles come across you, in the end you can still come out like a knight in shining armour , you can still come out as in believing yourself again and be strong again.
This beautiful enigmatic experience of just perceiving the opulent twin towers, made me wondered that you never know what kind of an ephemeral life can inspire you in the most astonishing ways.
I was on my way to home , when suddenly it started out raining heavily. I was stopping by the railway crossing, where I waited to take a deep breath and sighed a bit. It just took only a second for me to look at the immense beauty around me emanating from the sudden heavy rains. It was raining so heavily that everything was blurry . The grass was greener , the road was crooked , the mud was settling in, all the noises vanished into the mystical sound of the rain ,and to the most of it, the heavy drops came to rescue.
I took the picture from while sitting in the car and through the window. The rain drops were brisking heavily on the window glass and the smeary fog made it perfect . It felt like magic suddenly. I am amazed how the rains can just lift up your moods to cheeriness.
“Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain”
I forgot everything around and was just caught in the moment. The best one could do when it rains, is to let it rain and get lost in it.
Nineteen’s , an era of music probably would be close to people born in the year 85 and above. As I am an 89 born myself , I always reminiscent the fact that ,that was the time when some really fresh new next gen songs came up from our pop culture. Bollywood movies were coming up with these old mundane stereotype paradigm of songs which lacked rhythm ,because they were nothing compared to the golden sage of music( Kishor Kumar ,Rd Burman) songs .
Moreover we being the new generation kind of a thing wanted a realm of songs that had an extra edge to it, songs with new tunes or may be a modern feel to it .So a lot of instruments such as guitar and drums came into the picture . We being the audience were attracting it, blame it on the influence from the western music .
The sempiternal songs of the artists like The Aryans , Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Lucky Ali, Silk Route are close to my heart and I am sure, to most of my fellow mates too. That is probably because we grew up listening them .
The best part was the resplendent videos they had. We were super inclined to the their theme which were perfectly blended with the songs and the hotshot models in it. I swear I had the sensuous Milind Soman poster in my room. And the guys probably drooled over the female models featured in them or may be had a secret fantasy for them .
I remember what craze and impact Sonu Nigam had that time. The kind of romanticism he bought was commendable. Girls went gala over him and boys imagined their romantic lives as portrayed in his videos. Trust me I remember his videos of all songs like the Bible of my own. They are still glued on to my mind.
Not to forget Lucky Ali’s magnetic voice, well he and his sumptuous songs had quite a stir then and now also. His songs touched us in some way or the other. Thanks to You tube, we are still close to these irresistible golden numbers and I bet they are being played in all the after-parties for the subtle mood to set in.
To listen to these songs , it always make me nostalgic of how the times have changed. We used to wait for it to get featured on television. And those cassettes haha!! it used to get passed on from every girl/boy from our locality and schools.
That was the time without much exposure to internet , we were dependent to these little gestures which brought us closer to each other. And definitely music played an important part in it .
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that these songs have become an anthem to us. Being the most modest of all the younger generation coming up, we had our own golden time growing up listening to them, as much as we still listen to them now. I still miss the pop artists and i wish we could embrace the pop culture today too. I am sure if they comeback, they will be welcomed whole heartedly. And for if they come back,we shall be snatched away to the heaven, they call it Rapture. Till then we just hog into these beautiful memories.
Do you ever dream of getting a perfect getaway from your busy and hectic schedules . The pollution in the cities drain you out completely leaving you deprived of much energy. I know most of the crowd who are big traveler junkies , they just evade the home to have the energy pack weekend. Everybody has their own belief of what they really want out of their two-day divergent plan. I have been to the metros , to the highly metropolitan cities and all this is very commendable, but what i really enjoy most is being at a place where you can just be very close to the nature, oblivion to the city life, engine noises and most importantly ignorant of your cell phones for few days.
I recently visited this place called Madhai in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is situated between the wild Satpura Mountain Ranges right at the center of India. It was this fun road trip we had and trust me the highways and the music , you just can let yourself go into the moment.
This is the National Forest Park where you have this safari ride into the jungle. I am sure most of you all have heard about the parks like Kanha, Gir, Corbett and all. So it is the same kind but with one just difference. Go on to read below.
As soon as I entered the place or resort where we had to stay, my eyes just got the most precious view . It felt as if i had the revelation by angels itself. It was the most picturesque thing with mountains, trees, river flowing , boats and the green mush grass . A painter had painted it with the most perfectly blended colors in it. A countryside view charmed me completely.
To the other side of the river , had the jungle and camps . To reach their one must go by the boats. Now imagine to reach the other side of the jungle with on a boat crossing the river. Wow, it almost felt like village rural times, so grounded. Its a rare thing to experience amidst the modern times.
One thing i liked most about it that this is the place which is still not yet exploited by the government and tourism that much. Not many fancy resorts are there. Only some of them are their just by the river bank side where you can enjoy the view, gardens and lawns pretty much savaged. Only few cooks at the resort, whom you can order your favorite food irrespective of the menu. We have had hot freshly made chai (tea) and chilli hot served pakodas (snacks) of all types like tomatoes, onions and potatoes . The taste like that still lingers on my mouth, rooted taste like rural India and of course eating with a view like that.
I always had the fantasy of the incredible village life, and really I had a chance to feel like that just once. The acrimony of the city life is such that i am pleased to have a distress life for a few days.
Early morning at 5 am we went to the downside river . Walking through there felt like something you would cherish forever, it had the narrow lane for the pedestrians surrounded by dark green lands till kilometers away. The winds would just brisk perfectly at your cheeks and you feel like blushing with it.
On reaching their we had the boatmen at the boat to have us cross the river and reach the forest. And to the other side of the river ,had the sand dune kind of structures all over and they looked tremendously beautiful .They were formed of the erosion of the soil. During rains the level of the river rises to a much higher level.
They say fresh air is conducive to good health. One rightly said that. You can just feel the earthy touch to the whole place. After that one safari was waiting for us to pick to start our great adventure to the jungle ride . You can book it before advance for the comfort or else there are just two of them for spare on urgent bookings.
It was the time when dawn was waving us goodbye and the sun was about to pave in. It appeared beautiful to see through the huge trees. the sky was the mix of emerald blue and the shimmer orange and flawless .This open jeep could make you feel the winds and the sweet noises of the jungle directly to your eardrums. The nature itself was playing a sweet song for us. The little birds humming, peacock’s sounds , the bright fireflies and monkeys chirping, deer running through our sides. I just wanted to pause the moment and feel all of it. It was quite intimidating to see that the jungle life starts at the dawn itself.
We saw the bear crossing our paths with a baby carrying with it. The birds migrating and rare ones , all you can see them flying over us, a peacock (not dancing) though i had wished , but it blown away us by showing its beautiful wings. The mighty nature has given its the most pretty shades of blue, definitely a treat to our eyes.
And last not the least ,while we were on the jeep looking on our both sides having a glimpse of the calm forest, I spotted the tiger prints somewhere far on the rocks. That’s it ,our guide made the safari jeep stop, halt down silently near the crossroad. We waited for it to come down near the cross path and go to the other side. And then it got up and the way it walked down towards us was magnificent, i just cannot describe that moment in words. They say the tiger is the royal king of the jungle and they say it right. What an immense proud walk it had, we were just stumbled upon it by its gracious confident fearless gesture, making its way between the woods and the dense grass . It came near us just behind our jeep, we were told to keep silent and just still. my heartbeats grew faster realizing that it was just two meters behind us . It stood for a moment , gave a look at us and then went ahead. That was the best thing i ever experienced ,though I was just scared for a moment ,later i had a laugh about that too.
Then later open fields came with a large number of deer feeding on the knee length of yellow green grasses and behind the back once can see the river water. That time sun shone brightly as much embracing all of it. They say you can always spot the leopards on the open fields near the deer. And there it was beautiful yellow polka dotted skin sparkling between the yellow grass.
Though it was sitting quietly in its peace and in no mood of hunting. Splendid it was the whole landscape .I can never forget the whole experience, the irresistible forest life which you can feel it just for a while but will stay for a lifetime.
I have been to other most advertised and famous parks but this place is not so known by many people, with not so much tourism,it had it’s virginity somehow, it felt untouched and yet to be explored .It was very much rooted and that is what i liked about it the most. Far away from the busy-ness and hostilities . Only one kind of network tower was there. So be prepared for your phone won’t bug you for a while , and you will relish this the most. Just into the woods.
